AYATE BOTANICAL AGAVE FIBER WASHCLOTH

These natural fiber washcloths are made from 100% dried agave fibers which were sustainably grown without pesticides, harvested, and woven in Mexico. They gently exfoliate, stimulate circulation, and scrub away debris and dead skin cells for refreshed, rejuvenated, and renewed skin. 

Perfect for a variety of uses including use with soap, body wash, in the shower, and in the bathtub.  When soaked in water, the natural fibers will soften, expand, and tighten. One of the many benefits of ayate washcloths is how sustainable and durable they are ~ they are naturally mildew resistant and may last up to 1-2 years.  

Since the washcloths are made by hand, their sizes and appearance may vary slightly. Dimensions are approximately 11-12" square before being washed, and will naturally shrink after the first use as the agave fibers expand and tighten.  After using, rinse out and hang to dry.  At the end of their life cycle, the washcloths will naturally biodegrade and may be composted.

These washcloths are part of a fair trade project in Mexico which helps support family farms, community schools, pays living wages in impoverished areas, and provides school lunches. The plants were grown on community farms without the use of pesticides or harmful fertilizers. The agave plants helps the communities in many other ways as well - providing edible flowers, nectar for drinks, pulp for animal feed, and fiber for textiles. The fiber for these washcloths is manually extracted, washed with water, and sun dried. No chemicals or bleaches are used.
