Bakuchiol is a gentler, botanical alternative to retinol. Macadamia Nut Oil, Organic: Such a luscious ingredient! Macadamia nut oil is utilized to hydrate, nourish, soften, reduce the appearance of wrinkles, and retain skin suppleness. It contains high concentrations of essential fatty acids, antioxidants, vitamins, and squalene which regenerates skin cells and protects the skin. Plum Kernel Oil, Organic: An excellent oil naturally high in vitamins E, C, and A, and containing very-long-chain fatty acids, antioxidants, and anti-inflammatory properties. Avocado Oil, Organic: Nourishing, protective, known to help regenerate skin cells, repair skin tissues, and assist with signs of aging. Very beneficial for sensitive and damaged skin.
Hemp Seed Oil, Organic: Referred to as "nature's most perfectly balanced oil" due to its wide range of fatty acids, hemp seed oil is known to assist with a variety of difficult skin conditions, is soothing, moisturizing, healing, and protects against cellular damage.
Bakuchi Oil: a cold-pressed oil made from the seeds of the Babchi plant (Psoralea corylifolia), an Ayurvedic botanical with a long history of use in Ayurvedic and Chinese medicine to help calm and soothe the skin. This Bakuchi oil naturally contains between 3-5% Bakuchiol, making it the purest form of Bakuchiol out there! Plus, the oil contains other benefits that the Babchi plant has to offer (which likely wouldn't be present in a standardized extract).

Tamanu Oil, Organic: Referred to as "green gold", this is a very rich and thick therapeutic oil with protective, smoothing, and moisturizing qualities. It absorbs deeply into all three layers of the skin where it regenerates skin cells and repairs. Often used to assist with various skin conditions, and very beneficial for dry, mature and aging skin.
Passion Fruit Seed Oil (unrefined, virgin): An exotic oil which soothes, relaxes, and calms the skin, helps with collagen formation, benefits aging and dry skin as well as those with various skin conditions, and is very high in vitamin C.
Evening Primrose Seed Oil, Organic: A really rich and luxurious oil, often reserved for nighttime and under eye serums, utilized for a myriad of skin conditions, and contains gamma-linolenic acid and antioxidants which may help reduce and smooth wrinkles.
Bakuchiol Concentrate: A concentrated and standardized bakuchiol oil. Clinical studies have shown bakuchiol to be just as effective as retinol at treating wrinkles, evening skin tone, and improving skin elasticity and firmness. It doesn't cause dryness or irritation, is known to stimulate collagen production and speed up skin cell regeneration, assist with various skin conditions, and helps skin become refreshed, brighter, and more radiant. It can also be used during the day, whereas retinol is usually only applied at night (since retinol causes skin to become more sensitive to the sun). Plus, Bakuchiol is gentle and can be used by all skin types ~ including those of us with sensitive skin!
Squalane Oil (sustainably derived from olives without the use of solvents). Squalene is naturally present and plentiful in our skin until our 20's, then begins to diminish as we age. However, plant-based squalane is nearly identical and clinical studies have shown that it visibly reduces wrinkles, softens and smooths skin, improves skin elasticity, balances oil production, protects, deeply hydrates, and moisturizes for more youthful, radiant, and healthy skin. It's a thick and rich oil, yet since it's so similar to the squalene that our skin naturally produces, it soaks in easily, balances oil production, and doesn't clog pores.
Sea Buckthorn Oil: This is a very powerful and nourishing oil used to treat and heal a wide variety of skin conditions and irritations, regenerate skin cells, improve skin tone, and decrease fine lines and wrinkles. Rich in vitamins, minerals, essential fatty acids, phytosterols, and nutrients including omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, vitamins E, C, B1, B2, and K. A very concentrated and reparative treatment.

Please note that we're not trying to dissuade anyone from using retinol ~ it has been shown to have amazing results and there are many clinical studies proving it's effectiveness. But, for those who prefer a gentler plant-based ingredient, or whose skin is too irritated by retinol, Bakuchiol is a wonderful alternative!
* A little more information about some of the research:
A clinical trial published by the British Association of Dermatologists in 2018 compared the efficacy of bakuchiol and retinol for common signs of facial aging. The test ran for 12 weeks and compared bakuchiol 0.5% cream twice daily to retinol 0.5% cream daily. The study concluded that: "Our study demonstrates that bakuchiol is comparable with retinol in its ability to improve photoageing and is better tolerated than retinol. Bakuchiol is promising as a more tolerable alternative to retinol."
Although Bakuchi oil has been used for many years in Indian Ayurvedic and Chinese Medicine for skin care, it is a "newer" ingredient which has not been widely studied in modern times. However, in very recent years, dozens of clinical studies have shown that Bakuchiol should be further studied to fully understand it's benefits, but concluded that it is a "retinol alternative with anti-aging, antibacterial, and anti-inflammatory properties."

How to use: First, wash and dry your face with water or a gentle facial wash. Mist with 1-3 spritzes of facial toner and allow to air dry or gently pat dry with a soft washcloth. Finish by applying 1-2 pumps of facial serum. Allow to absorb completely into skin before applying makeup or sunscreen. Use twice per day (morning/night) for best results.
To extend the shelf life, store in a dry, cool, and dark area. Direct light and heat will reduce the effectiveness and shelf life of the product.
Note: Some of the oils used in or formulas are very rich in fatty acids, and will naturally solidify in cold conditions. This is perfectly normal for these oils, and will not impact their quality or usage. If you wish to remove any solidified fats in your oil, the best way to do this is to place the entire bottle in a double boiler over low heat and allow the oil to slowly heat up. Once warm, any solidified particles will remelt.

I have been using Fawn Lily Botanical serums for years and I absolutely love this one! It has such a silky consistency and absorbs quickly. I also appreciate that it doesn't flare up my rosacea. This stuff is amazing!
I'm mid 50's. I had debilitating acne from early teens into my 30's. It left scars. In the 80's all products (off the shelf) were designed to dry your face/skin out. The more I broke out, the more I used these products. Then the internet came along, and I started researching. Could it be that what my skin really needed was natural oil? I have been using Fawn Lily for years now. My skin is amazing! And now with the Bakuchiol Serum, it's a whole other level. I can't even describe how soft my face feels! How healthy! How balanced!
I am on my second bottle of this serum and I can definitely see results. My skin feels smoother and more hydrated and my fine lines are not as visible. I have also received compliments on the "glow" my skin has. It is important to me that the products I use are natural and cruelty free, and it is a bonus that I get to support a small business like Fawn Lily.
I wanted to try a natural version of a retinol-type serum and found Fawn Lily's bakuchiol. I've been using it for about 2 months and do feel I'm seeing a difference. A few years ago I got my first case of poison oak and it hit my face with a vengeance. After it healed, I had a sort of saggy skin bit under my eyes (I'm in my 60s and experiencing drier skin - my face did not bounce back well!). I thought I'd give the bakuchiol serum a go when it became available. I really think the saggy bit is looking better and I do love the feel of my skin with this serum (I am also adding in, on occasion, the Pomegranate/Helichrysum serum). I am grateful for the kinder price point of Irene's products as there are others I just can't justify paying for. Lovely woman-owned business with a kind, personal touch. I started using Fawn Lily serum, oh, five years ago. I immediately noticed improvement in my face. The skin became really soft. If it's soft, less lines. And I had always used moisturizers. I am thrilled. I then bought as many bukuchiol serum I could. Wow. It's like putting on liquid silk. Fawn Lily serums are always the best, but bukuchiol is truly amazing. My facial skin has never been better.
I started looking for a serum after I received a sample from a large cosmetic company. It was great, but $150 an ounce back then. Ouch. Fawn Lily is the best product period. And organic. At a fabulous price.
I love all the face serums I have bought and used. However, when I tried this one my face really glowed and definitely felt more supple. I noticed that small lines were less noticeable. Using the serums from fawn lily is fun and exciting. They all have worked great that I have tried to date and they really all do something a little different to my skin. All in a good way. With this and all the serums I have no side issues at all! My skin is dry and I put a healthy dose on at night and go to sleep. I bought a second bottle of this before I was even half done with the first bottle because I was worried it would sell out. It is great!
Like the title states, this serum is so amazing that I consider it a holy grail product for my skincare routine. I’ve loved all the Fawn Lily serums that I’ve tried. There’s seriously some epic products that Irene has crafted but this Bakuchiol serum is something special. I started seeing my wrinkles fade by week 2. Like noticeably fade. As I approach old age, (ok I’ll be 40 in like a year) I’m definitely seeing wayy more fine lines. After a month of using this serum, my eye area and forehead lines are lessened to the point that I had someone believe I was 25! My face feels and looks more moisturized and plump. Thank you for expertly crafting this serum. Total gold with this one.

I've been using this facial serum for about 2 months now and am very, very pleased with it. It is the first serum whose oils my skin actually loves! It nourishes my skin without the adverse effects I have experienced in the past from other facial oils - even very expensive ones. This one is uniquely soothing and my skin loves it.
The best smelling and quickest absorbing serum I've had the pleasure of trying from Fawn Lilly. The serums effects are as described, I would fully recommend to any maturity of skin. The benefits outside of wrinkle smoothing are honestly enough to recommend on their own merit.
