Squalane Oil (sustainably derived from olives without the use of solvents). Squalene is naturally present and plentiful in our skin until our 20's, then begins to diminish as we age. However, plant-based squalane is nearly identical and clinical studies have shown that it visibly reduces wrinkles, softens and smooths skin, improves skin elasticity, balances oil production, protects, deeply hydrates, and moisturizes for more youthful, radiant, and healthy skin. Please note that we're not trying to dissuade anyone from using retinol ~ it has been shown to have amazing results and there are many clinical studies proving it's effectiveness. But, for those who prefer a gentler plant-based ingredient, or whose skin is too irritated by retinol, Bakuchiol is a wonderful alternative!
