Bakuchiol is a gentler, botanical alternative to retinol. Brazil Nut Oil, Organic: This rich oil contains antioxidants, vitamins A and C, helps with skin elasticity, naturally protects against UV rays, helps repair sun and environmental damage, and deeply moisturizes. It's such a luxurious ingredient for all skin types, especially dry, damaged, or skin in need of protection and repair.
Macadamia Nut Oil, Organic: Such a luscious ingredient! Macadamia nut oil is utilized to hydrate, nourish, soften, reduce the appearance of wrinkles, and retain skin suppleness. It contains high concentrations of essential fatty acids, antioxidants, vitamins, and squalene which regenerates skin cells and protects the skin. Due to the range of fatty acids, macadamia oil supports cellular membranes, helps retain moisture, and regenerates skin layers. Especially beneficial for dry and mature skin types.
Plum Kernel Oil, Organic: An excellent oil naturally high in vitamins E, C, and A, and containing very-long-chain fatty acids, antioxidants, and anti-inflammatory properties. Known to hydrate, brighten, repair, and plump skin while reducing the appearance of fine lines, wrinkles, and assisting with various skin irritations and conditions. A lightweight, noncomedogenic oil safe for all skin types including oily and acne-prone skin.
Avocado Oil, Organic: Nourishing, protective, known to help regenerate skin cells, repair skin tissues, and assist with signs of aging. Very beneficial for sensitive and damaged skin.
Hemp Seed Oil, Organic: Referred to as "nature's most perfectly balanced oil" due to its wide range of fatty acids, hemp seed oil is known to assist with a variety of difficult skin conditions, is soothing, moisturizing, healing, and protects against cellular damage.
Bakuchi Oil: a cold-pressed oil made from the seeds of the Babchi plant (Psoralea corylifolia), an Ayurvedic botanical with a long history of use in Ayurvedic and Chinese medicine to help calm and soothe the skin. This Bakuchi oil naturally contains between 3-5% Bakuchiol, making it the purest form of Bakuchiol out there! Plus, the oil contains other benefits that the Babchi plant has to offer (which likely wouldn't be present in a standardized extract).
Argan Oil, Organic: Referred to as "liquid gold", this is one of the very best ingredients to use in skin care! This remarkable oil protects, nourishes, hydrates, moisturizes, boosts skin elasticity, and revitalizes skin. It naturally high in vitamin E, squalene, carotenes, antioxidants, and essential fatty acids. Considered an anti-aging ingredient which helps protect the skin from damage.
Tamanu Oil, Organic: Referred to as "green gold", this is a very rich and thick therapeutic oil with protective, smoothing, and moisturizing qualities. It absorbs deeply into all three layers of the skin where it regenerates skin cells and repairs. Often used to assist with various skin conditions, and very beneficial for dry, mature and aging skin.
Passion Fruit Seed Oil (unrefined, virgin): An exotic oil which soothes, relaxes, and calms the skin, helps with collagen formation, benefits aging and dry skin as well as those with various skin conditions, and is very high in vitamin C.
Evening Primrose Seed Oil, Organic: A really rich and luxurious oil, often reserved for nighttime and under eye serums, utilized for a myriad of skin conditions, and contains gamma-linolenic acid and antioxidants which may help reduce and smooth wrinkles.
Bakuchiol Concentrate: A concentrated and standardized bakuchiol oil. Clinical studies have shown bakuchiol to be just as effective as retinol at treating wrinkles, evening skin tone, and improving skin elasticity and firmness. It doesn't cause dryness or irritation, is known to stimulate collagen production and speed up skin cell regeneration, assist with various skin conditions, and helps skin become refreshed, brighter, and more radiant. It can also be used during the day, whereas retinol is usually only applied at night (since retinol causes skin to become more sensitive to the sun). Plus, Bakuchiol is gentle and can be used by all skin types ~ including those of us with sensitive skin!
Squalane Oil (sustainably derived from olives without the use of solvents). Squalene is naturally present and plentiful in our skin until our 20's, then begins to diminish as we age. However, plant-based squalane is nearly identical and clinical studies have shown that it visibly reduces wrinkles, softens and smooths skin, improves skin elasticity, balances oil production, protects, deeply hydrates, and moisturizes for more youthful, radiant, and healthy skin. It's a thick and rich oil, yet since it's so similar to the squalene that our skin naturally produces, it soaks in easily, balances oil production, and doesn't clog pores.
Sea Buckthorn Oil: This is a very powerful and nourishing oil used to treat and heal a wide variety of skin conditions and irritations, regenerate skin cells, improve skin tone, and decrease fine lines and wrinkles. Rich in vitamins, minerals, essential fatty acids, phytosterols, and nutrients including omega-3 and omega-6 fatty acids, vitamins E, C, B1, B2, and K. A very concentrated and reparative treatment.
Vitamin E Oil, non-GMO: This powerful antioxidant helps smooth, condition, moisturize, and protect the skin. Beneficial for all skin types and for various skin conditions and irritations.
This is an Unscented formula, making it suitable for those with sensitivities to essential oils and fragrances, and folks who prefer scent-free products.

Please note that we're not trying to dissuade anyone from using retinol ~ it has been shown to have amazing results and there are many clinical studies proving it's effectiveness. But, for those who prefer a gentler plant-based ingredient, or whose skin is too irritated by retinol, Bakuchiol is a wonderful alternative!
* A little more information about some of the research:
A clinical trial published by the British Association of Dermatologists in 2018 compared the efficacy of bakuchiol and retinol for common signs of facial aging. The test ran for 12 weeks and compared bakuchiol 0.5% cream twice daily to retinol 0.5% cream daily. The study concluded that: "Our study demonstrates that bakuchiol is comparable with retinol in its ability to improve photoageing and is better tolerated than retinol. Bakuchiol is promising as a more tolerable alternative to retinol."
Although Bakuchi oil has been used for many years in Indian Ayurvedic and Chinese Medicine for skin care, it is a "newer" ingredient which has not been widely studied in modern times. However, in very recent years, dozens of clinical studies have shown that Bakuchiol should be further studied to fully understand it's benefits, but concluded that it is a "retinol alternative with anti-aging, antibacterial, and anti-inflammatory properties."

How to use: First, wash and dry your face with water or a gentle facial wash. Mist with 1-3 spritzes of facial toner and allow to air dry or gently pat dry with a soft washcloth. Finish by applying 1-2 pumps of facial serum. Allow to absorb completely into skin before applying makeup or sunscreen. Use twice per day (morning/night) for best results.
To extend the shelf life, store in a dry, cool, and dark area. Direct light and heat will reduce the effectiveness and shelf life of the product.
Note: Some of the oils used in or formulas are very rich in fatty acids, and will naturally solidify in cold conditions. This is perfectly normal for these oils, and will not impact their quality or usage. If you wish to remove any solidified fats in your oil, the best way to do this is to place the entire bottle in a double boiler over low heat and allow the oil to slowly heat up. Once warm, any solidified particles will remelt.

The best smelling and quickest absorbing serum I've had the pleasure of trying from Fawn Lilly. The serums effects are as described, I would fully recommend to any maturity of skin. The benefits outside of wrinkle smoothing are honestly enough to recommend on their own merit.

This serum is something special, I’ve been using for exactly two weeks now, and am in awe of how my face has responded to this. I’m 42 and it’s been a noticeable difference in how my skin is aging just from two years ago when I turned 40!

I've been using Fawn Lily's serums ever since she started selling them on Etsy, ages ago. They are all fantastic, my serum of the month subscription is something I will never give up, but never has one made my skin feel as silken soft as a just boiled gnocchi. There is no other word to describe it. I'm in my mid-50s and I think this stuff is too good to be true. Just wow.

I know I need to use Bakuchiol for several weeks to see the full benefit, but even from the first day this serum is a super moisturizer without looking shiny or oily. I use Emulsified Botanical serum first and follow with Bakuchiol serum. For me it’s eczema friendly—I didn’t try it on the flare ups around my eyes or mouth at first but it seems so gentle I tried it on a small spot and its fine—I can use it on my whole face. I am so pleased! I know I can trust Fawn Lily to use the highest quality ingredients and charge a fair price. This serum is truly a bargain—you won’t be sorry you tried it.
