These premium quality "deep sea" wool bath sponges are the very best quality wool sea sponges available!

Sustainably harvested off the coast of Florida in colder and deeper waters than regular wool sponges. The colder temperatures and deeper depths produce superior quality sponges that are more durable, denser, and absorbent than other wool sponges. They are also more difficult to harvest, which increases their cost, but the higher quality is well worth the extra investment.

Wool sponges are highly prized and widely considered to be the ultimate sponges for bathing. They are softer than other sponges (like "freshly spun wool"), denser, and usually more durable. They are very luxurious, naturally contain minerals which are beneficial for the skin, are natural, sustainable, gently exfoliate , cleanse, and remove dead skin cells for fresh, glowing skin.

These "deep sea" wool sponges are gentle enough to be used in the bath or shower daily by all skin types, and they are delicate enough for children and babies. The perfect choice for anyone looking for a luxurious, spa-like experience!

These are premium, high quality sea sponges. We offer these as whole or cut form. The whole sponges are of superior quality, sustainably cut from their base, but with their beautiful and natural form intact (they may have been shaped and cut slightly by divers, but are still in their original, natural form). This makes them naturally stronger and more durable than cut sponges. However, cut sponges are more affordable, while still maintaining the benefits and luxury of a wool sponge.

The wool sponges that we offer measure 5-6 inches across measured at their widest point. Heights vary quite a bit from sponge to sponge, from approximately 3-5 inches. Please note that sponges are traditionally measured when wet, and expand in size once submerged in water.

Since these sponges grow naturally in the sea, each sponge is unique in shape, size, and appearance. As you'll see in the photos, the sponges can vary quite a bit in appearance - no two are exactly the same!

Responsibly harvested and a naturally renewable resource, these sponges are hand-cut by divers to ensure that enough of the base remains intact so that the sponge can regrow. Studies show that areas harvested actually increase the population density of sponges. Sponges are biodegradable, and can be added to the compost once they've reached the end of their life-cycle.

Natural sea sponges are a renewable resource, and they are so much better for our environment than plastic poufs and bath accessories made from synthetic fibers. Not only do the plastic-derived products cause environmental pollution and consume a lot of natural resources to produce, but they have to be thrown away at the end of their lifecycle. Once in a landfill, they continue to break down and contribute to micro-plastic contamination in our soil, water sources, and oceans.

If you're not sure which sponge is best for you, we've written this article outlining the benefits of and differences between all of the sponges in our line so that you can find the perfect sponge for you! You can access that blog article here.

Wool sponges are the most expensive and luxurious type of sponge available. We also offer several less expensive options, which can be found here: https://fawnlilybotanica.com/collections/tools-accessories

Sponge care: Rinse completely after each use and air dry. Sponges have complex and delicate fibers, and must be handled with care. Never twist or pull the sponge, and do not rub too vigorously on the skin. Gently squeeze the sponge to remove any excess water or soap, never wring or twist water and soap out. Twisting, pulling, or vigorously using the sponge will cause damage and tear the fibers, which will make the sponge fall apart. After each use, allow sponge to dry completely. These sponges are durable and will last for many months with proper care. Once they have reached the end of their life cycle, they can be easily composted instead of ending up in the landfill like  synthetic alternatives.

Listing is for one sea bath sponge unless otherwise noted. Sponges depicted in these  photographs are whole sea sponges (not cut).

Wonderful Sponge

I absolutely love this sponge! Ive been using it for about 2 months and I've noticed how smooth my skin is now. My legs finally look smoother and a uniform color. I do have one thing that I would have liked is a larger size to cover more area. I still love it and love the results!
